Product Development Manager

The position of Product Development Manager is an exciting opportunity to be part of a dynamic team working in the challenging and fast-moving area of salmon feed. Ultimately, you will be working alongside our experts in fish nutrition, raw material procurement, feed production and logistics. As part of this international team you will be delivering classleading
salmon nutrition through the optimum use of raw materials sourced from around the globe. Simply put, your number one challenge will be to assemble the best products using competitively purchased raw materials in a highly competitive manufacturing environment.

We are seeking a highly motivated, technically competent individual to focus on the continuous development of feeds that guarantee optimal salmon performance and quality whilst simultaneously extracting maximum value from the raw materials available to us. The role will ultimately entail taking responsibility for the future direction of travel of the feed
products as they evolve to fit the needs of a highly successful farming business whilst delivering the ever-more complex demands of retailers, fish quality and sustainability schemes. Based in Bergen, you will report to the Director of Nutrition and Formulations and work alongside the Directors of Operations and Procurement and the Formulation
Team. The successful candidate will also work very closely with the Research & Technical Manager and Trials Manager as part of a team with access to our Field Trials Station at Averøy near Kristiansund in Norway.

This is a ‘hands on role’ and the successful individual will be someone seeking to develop their own knowledge and expertise and apply it within an efficient and dynamic technical / industrial / commercial workplace. Candidates should possess a good degree in biological or veterinary sciences combined with an MSc or preferably a PhD in animal nutrition. Experience in salmon feed product development and / or feed sales and marketing is an advantage, but is not an absolute requirement as the successful candidate will benefit from an extensive training programme.

The working language will be English and the position will entail a significant amount of international travel. The post will attract a highly competitive remuneration package which will include a relocation allowance.
